Developed by Irrational Games and published by Electronic Arts and Crave Entertainment in 2002, "Freedom Force" is a real time tactical RPG based on the silver age of comic books during the 50s to 70s.

We begin our story on unsuspecting Earth. An evil alien race, lead by the nefarious Lord Dominion, have plans to sow chaos on Earth using a mysterious substance called Energy X. By exposing certain individuals to Energy X they hope to create super beings who will fight for control of Earth and destroy the planet in the process. However, their plans are foiled by Mentor, a spy from another alien race with incredible mental powers, who steals the Energy X and escapes.
His ship shot down in the process of escaping, Mentor and the Energy X capsules are spread out across Patriot City, one of which meets Frank Stiles who becomes Minuteman! Defender of the weak and protector of the city against Communist plots.
