This is the fourteenth mission of the Derelict campaign for Freespace 2. A mercenary outpost hidden in Tau Sigma's asteroid belt, identifying itself as the Event Horizon, has sent a distress signal to Tau Sigma Station, claiming to be under attack and requesting assistance. Long range scans corroborate the report of weapons fire, but our scans were interrupted at the same time as the distress call cut out, leading us to believe that the mysterious attackers are jamming transmissions. This smacks of what happened during our last mission, so the Silver Scythes are scrambling to respond. Our mission is to repel the attacking forces, whoever they may be, and oversee the evacuation of the Event Horizon station. GTVI has taken an interest and is sending a transport to rescue the mercenaries, and the GTFf Cypher is en route to provide fire support.
