Freespace 2: Vengeance of the Cosmos - Wolfe (Scientists With a Warship)
7This is the only completed mission (I think) of Vengeance of the Cosmos: Wolfe for Freespace 2, a Blue Planet project showcasing capital ship control. We occupy the role of Captain Aria Wolfe, an officer in research and procurement working on the Kayser project. Command has recently given us command of Edos Station in Capella and its research facilities and crew as a reward for recommending modifications to the GTVA Colossus to allow overloading its beams for the impending Sathanas engagement, the Shivan juggernaut currently being in Gamma Draconis consolidating forces for an invasion of Capella. Commanding the Aeolus prototype testbed GTC Astera, also assigned to us as a research platform, we must respond to a surprise Shivan attack that has somehow bypassed the node blockade. With references to subspace missiles and advanced beam cannons, this is intended to showcase the very beginnings of the Threat Exigency Initiative (TEI) project that resulted in the warships, fighters, and weapons used by the GTVA in Blue Planet.
