Freespace: Silent Threat Reborn - Exodus
5This is the twelfth mission of the Silent Threat Reborn fan campaign for the Freespace Port. With the destruction of the GTD Krios and our rescue by the GTD Soyakaze, home of the GTI's Intelligence branch, we have been transferred to the 82nd Nighthawks squadron. Ships loyal to GTI's R&D branch have defected en masse after the revelation of Admiral Glaive's betrayal, and withdrawn from operations in Ross 128 to Delta Serpentis.
The Repulse has attacked the Vasudan embassy annex in orbit over Delta Serpentis IV. Thanks to the Soyakaze's interruption of their attempt to "sanitize" the Krios and its crew, enough advance warning was given to minimize loss of life, but the Vasudan Imperium is still unhappy with the situation. Alpha Wing of the 82nd has been tasked to escort a convoy of survivors from the orbital installations to a secure rendezvous site with GTA and PVE cruisers. Unfortunately, though the Repulse has gone into hiding, R&D forces have access to GTA fleet communications protocols, and so are likely aware of our mission. Attacks are expected.
As you can see from my concurrent playthrough of the original Silent Threat, the Freespace Port team wasn't given a whole lot to work with for this remake. I am doing the original campaign and this remake side by side since they depict the same events (in different ways).
