This is something I wanted to do for a long time.

There are a surprising amount of mods featuring Freya for other games out there, and I've been trying them out whenever I find them. I've also got them all running on Steam Deck too!

For this first one, it's a simple sprite swap for the SNES Classic, "The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past", replacing Link with Freya!

There isn't much to say about this one as it is very simple. I will share some instructions here to help you get it up and running though.

Firstly, you'll need a ROM for the game. I cannot provide this directly to you so please don't ask for it. It isn't too hard to find. I used a European ROM but any should do.

To get the Freya sprite, you can find it on this website (there's a ton of other characters there as well if it interests you):

Then, to inject the sprite into the ROM, use this webpage:

Select the rom, and the sprite as prompted. Then you should see a preview of the sprite. Then select Save Updated ROM, and you're golden!

You can boot the ROM however you please, I personally use the SNES9x emulator but any should do.

For Steam Deck, you can use EmuDeck to setup the emulator really easily. There are many tutorials for it on YouTube, it's pretty easy to setup.
