One of my big goals of this year was to build a new PC rig as I was starting to feel the age a little on my old one. After much money spent, trial and error building it, and troubleshooting a GPU issue caused by my initial power supply choice not being strong enough, I finally have it! Naturally, I figured it might be cool to upload some videos of stuff running on it, particularly emulation!
CTR: NF is my favourite kart racer of all time, but it's a shame we still do not have a native PC port. Thankfully, using one of the many Yuzu successors out there, we can play the game with an unlocked frame rate on PC through emulation!
The Switch version of the game is still honestly really visually impressive, and that only becomes more evident by bumping up the resolution. I am running the game internally at 4K resolution. And on this rig at least, the game runs at wild frame rates, even going past 200 FPS at times. It can easily hold the 144 Hz refresh rate of my monitor.
Just wanted to throw this one out there real quick while I was bored and looking to unwind!
