1,176Review: Very neat Sonic mod that came out of nowhere, I just had to check it out because the songs and artstyle seemed very appealing to me. It's not much (hence why this review isn't too big), but for what it delivers, it's pretty damn good.

Alright, for real now, that was a very well-done fake-out.
I knew from the beginning that this wasn't gonna be just an ordinary Sonic mod, but even so I still got caught off-guard somehow. The hints are just subtle enough to indicate that something's off: the fact that this mod came out of nowhere, the vague description of the GameJolt page, the name being a play on "Rodent Trap" (I assume) which is SO clever, and so on and so forth. Even the events after it's revealed are really fun.
Fake-out aside, I was also very impressed by the transition to the menus. It all looks so polished and smooth both art-wise and coding-wise, and it totally sets the tone for what to expect for the future of this mod. The extras are also a pretty good treat to look at if you're looking for more content to get out of this short preview.
I don't cover EXE related mods often on this channel, but this one piqued my interest enough for me to do so for its quality and cleverness. I've heard this was in the works some time ago (as it's meant to be a direct continuation or spiritual successor to the original Vs. Sonic.exe from what I know, correct me if I'm wrong) so they definitely have more things planned...
