From the Depths Vehicle Testing/Showcase: The Pushme -Pullyou Airship
Just like with building automobiles or rockets, sometimes you have to test stuff to destruction to make sure it works right. Building a craft in FtD is nothing if it is not tested and refined in the heat of battle - preferably in the Designer rather than the Campaign. You don't want the Lightning Hoods to laugh at you, those freaks. ;)
The Pushme - Pullyou is an airship designed for my Ashes of the Empire campaign, but it is not within the volume limit. I am ignoring the volume limit in this instance. It would also be a fine airship for the Neter Campaign as well. It runs on a Bombing Run AI with two fixed HESH cannons in front and two fixed HEAT cannons in the back, so it can shoot at the enemy whether it is coming or going. This also allows one side to get fully loaded up while the other is at work. It is also armed with a considerable missile loadout and an anti-air cannon. It is kept aloft with 6 custom jet engines, with 3 in the back for primary propulsion. Its defenses are 4 decoy missile tubes and 3 anti-missile turrets.
As a result of my testing on this occasion, I decided to upgrade the armor on the back and sides, and add balloon deployers in case it winds up on the ground or in an extreme roll, to get it back up on it's feet and fighting.
