Front Mission 3 was the first Front Mission to make it to West officially. Like with the remake of Front Mission, Front Mission 3 has two campaigns to play through. This is the USN campaign. There are a few forking paths as well but it doesn't really matter for the story.
As usual, this is segmented and edited. I'm using Vulkan rendering along with PGXP.
Notes
Man, what an unlikeable main character. He really drags the story down in my opinion. I also despise some of the mechanics this game uses. Imagine highly modular military craft with widespread use, having such a massive flaw in randomly ejecting the pilot when experiencing a shock. Something that is expected to happen given intended uses. So dumb.
On top of that, you have the absolute nonsense of foot soldier vs wanzer. I can understand being harder to hit, to a point, but why resist and be able to deal so much damage and apply forced ejections and stuns? What were they thinking?
There are rankings after every mission. It doesn't matter.
Since shopping is less of a hassle this time around, I left it unaltered. The game also has some lengthy and frequent load times as was usual for PS1 games. I left most of these unaltered as well because even though it's a negative aspect, it's still part of the game and thus part of the experience without being as excessive as shopping could be in the original Front Mission. I don't miss 5-10 solid minutes of applying the same set up to 8-12 wanzers every few missions.
I don't show the intermission screen except at the end because I used it as a stop/start point for recording.
The game has a fairly massive amount of text on the network for backstory/world building purposes. It's way too much for this kind of video, so I left the vast majority of it out.
I tried to make double shot work with the lead character but the activation rate ended up being way lower than I thought. I think the idea was sound given how shotgun damage works but it was just too infrequent to be useful.
