Frontline Commando | Android/iOS Gameplay, No Commentary
22Released in 2011 for iOS and Android by Glu Mobile, Frontline Commando is a third-person cover shooter that puts you in the boots of a lone soldier taking on endless waves of enemies. Across its various levels, players move between cover points, pop out to shoot, and upgrade weapons and gear to survive increasingly tough firefights.
This video showcases the first 5 bosses of the game. While there are 15 bosses in total, the grind required to reach them quickly becomes much longer to complete and unfortunately the core gameplay never really evolves — it’s the same cover-to-cover shooting from start to finish. For that reason, I decided not to record the entire game as I only have so much free time!
Still, Frontline Commando is an interesting example of the early days of free-to-play mobile shooters, complete with energy systems and premium upgrades.
