Frustrations About Video Editing On Linux
On Windows and macOS there are a plethora of quality options for video editing. That is not the case on Linux.
What few options we have on Linux are nowhere near the quality of their Windows and Mac counterparts. Lightworks is the only "professional grade" video editor available for Linux and overall my experience with it has been "OK" at best.
Kdenlive is by far the most popular editor on Linux because it is both extremely powerful and easy to use. However, it's documentation is bad and stability varies from version to version.
OpenShot is another great editor but it has a difficult time handling higher quality clips, such as 1080p@60fps.
Pitivi is an "up-and-comer" but the workflow it forces its awkward at first. I'm sure if I got used to it, it'd be fine.
Finally, Blender seems to have a cult-following for video editing but I've never used it.
