Rebellion hits us with a full rebalance patch one month after Evil Genius 2's release, and one day before they drop the first DLC for the game (The Cabal Pack). The patch promises to rebalance the game to make improvements based on feedback from reviews, namely that the game pace was too slow.

The patch focuses on rebalancing everything on the world stage and has changes reaching almost every system in the game. Heat is higher, advanced agents attack more often, schemes and criminal networks make more money, minions have to be paid more, and those are only the big changes. There's a lot to cover in this video.

Patch Verdict: Steps in the right direction. The game speed is improved without making the game just feel easier. Strategies for success are slightly different than on the previous patch, but the core gameplay is still the same. There are still bugs, balance issues, and quality of life improvements I would like to see come to the game but with how active the devs have been I believe we will get at least some of those fixes in the future. Hopefully the continued release of DLC keeps updates coming regularly and the community finds consensus on what to ask the devs to focus on.
