In this video I show two future-leaning easter eggs / predictive references to actor Jim Carrey playing Dr. Robotnik In Sonic The Hedgehog (2020).
Sonic's sidekick is Tails, a two tailed fox, introduced in the SEGA video game Sonic The Hedgehog 2 in 1992. One such reference may be seen in comic book-based film Batman Forever (1995). Jim Carrey played Riddler in this, who teams with Tommy Lee Jones - former Gotham City DA Harvey Dent / Two Face. A trademark of his character is he makes major decisions using a coin toss (ie: heads or TAILS).
Looking at the body of work of Jim Carrey, his role in Ben Stiller's 1996 black comedy, The Cable Guy may be a future nod to Sonic by way of a reference to X-Men. James Marsden plays Sheriff Wachowski in the Sonic films. He was the Marvel mutant superhero Cyclops / Scott Summers in 4 X-Men films. CABLE / Nathan Summers is a major X-Men-related comic character, hailing from the early 1990's. He is the son of Cyclops and Madelyne Pryor (a clone of Jean Grey) who travels back in time to fight with the mutant heroes.
