Fuzz Force is a cute, "spooky" themed roguelite with deckbuilder elements that uses Dice as it's primary gameplay mechanic. It's a title developed by a single developer, and in that regard there is some noticeable shortcomings. Namely, the game might need a little editing in the tutorial and rules department, as things are not so obvious to the player. Fuzz Force really takes a "play it and get used to it" approach, as the mechanics start to flesh themselves out over time.
Not to slot each section of a game into little pieces, we would however be remiss if we didn't talk about the art-style and music in Fuzz Force, which are arguably the star of the show here. What drew me in initially was the beautiful cover art, featuring a really nice theme and cute characters. The music does well to really drive home a "halloween"-type feel, and for this time of the year it feels very appropriate.
Fuzz Force is definitely a bit difficult, featuring some real heavy risk vs reward design philosophy. In the video, I had gotten a pretty strong build off of straight up just gambling, and the game really rewards you for risking your entire run off of "just one little roll couldn't hurt". However, things can also come crashing down entirely as well, since I got poisoned abruptly from the very same gambling mechanic that I so very much coveted earlier.
Hands-Off Gaming can heartily recommend Fuzz Force to those looking for something a little like Dicey Dungeons and For the King, as it bares resemblance to both in different ways. While it is the developers first outing, the game's light-weight file size, good cohesive theme + style, and fun mechanics really help the game feel like it was made by someone who is very confident and talented.
