From the same company that brought you such "classics" such as Mission Cobra, comes Galactic Crusader! While the cover of the game shows a space ship flying around you actually play as a gigantic...butterfly? That's just the start of the fun with this unlicensed game.
So despite me mocking this game and it's premise, I'm here to let you know that it is actually one of the better (maybe best?) unlicensed games from Sachen I've played. It certainly leagues ahead of Mission Cobra.
Your butterfly starts out as a massive flying hitbox, but can take multiple hits that shrink it down in size until the 3rd hit which will kill you. Once again you can collect power ups such as different weapons (which can be upgraded twice), temporary invincibility, and extra lives. The issue is when you get hit, you also lose a level of your weapon, so it can sometimes be better to play as the smaller size since it's much easier to dodge enemies and projectiles. The controls are very good and the enemy formations are actually somewhat interesting and can even take a bit of strategy to navigate through.
In each level you basically need to destroy 3 of a certain type of enemy before you can face the level boss, which all have simple and repetitive patterns but will also kill you easily if you are not careful. The final boss in particular can be very annoying and you will almost surely end up fighting it with a powered down, small ship at one point, which can make for a tedious and painful experience to finish him off.
