Gale is probably the second companion to permanently join your party and is a wizard. This video acts as a Guide for Gale in Baldur's Gate 3 Early Access Patch 6 and shows what we can do with him.

He doesn't have any bonuses or abilities compared to your average wizard but he does have a penchant for consuming magical items. You also need to be wary of his body if he dies and you will need to go through an elaborate set of actions to bring Gale back to life.
