Spellthief is a magic longbow introduced in patch 6 and has the ability to restore one level 1 spellslot when an attack made with it is a critical hit. This can be done once per short rest, and although the chances don't seem good, we can influence the chance of a critical hit in one major way.

You can also have one spellcaster use this item's ability and then pass it on to another spell caster so they can also restore a spell slot. Whether this is intended or cheese is yet to be seen, but it makes for a powerful weapon.

Currently it probably isn't too important since long rests can be taken frequently, but if camp supplies were to become more scarce then Spellthief would be very valuable indeed.

Do keep in mind that Baldur's Gate 3 is still in early access and so the features shown in the video are subject to change and the game is incomplete, so expect more to be added to the game in the future. At time of recording the game was still in Early Access Patch 6, and by the time of the full release of Baldur's Gate 3 things may have changed.
