Part 2. This isn't completely survival horror, it adds a splash of sci-fi and I dig that. It's a pretty cool concept. You wake up in some medical facility with nifty cool psychic powers and can make heads explode. What's not to like? The pre-rendered backgrounds look nice and there are freaking ton of cutscenes. Those look a little silly. The voice acting is also questionable, but it's a PSX game, so it's understandable. The main mechanic is that you are on a constant timer that is counting down to you going haywire and that surge causes enemies heads to go boom. While in this surge mode your health slowly drains and you move at the speed of a sloth, so there is a risk reward thing going on. There are only 4 areas you visit, but they are unique and interesting. The story is silly and it mainly plays as an adventure game in quite a few parts. The ending though can be rough as you have to traverse a few gauntlets. Speaking of combat, you have only 3 powers and they come in somewhat limited quantities so you need to be careful. The final being extremely rare and pretty useful. The bosses range from being easy to confusing. I found that sometimes I wasn't sure if I was doing damage or not. Overall the game is not all that hard and fairly decent. It's not great but it is fun. Enjoy my playthrough.
