Game Boy Light Modded Gold Spray Painted Shell with OSD IPS LCD!
Recently, I was modifying my Game Boy Light console, which is the same one where I installed the Helder Game Tech power regulator along with an IPS LCD, with a spray painted shell in which I used a white shell, scuffed it down, & gave it a golden look with gold spray paint; & also an unbranded OSD IPS LCD display. Pros about the OSD IPS LCD include a battery indicator which tells the status of the batteries along with two touch sensors instead of one. Cons about this LCD include the contrast wheel actually providing no functionality as the brightness can now be adjusted by the touch sensor. Even though this IPS LCD features an OSD menu, when I tried to solder wires onto the positive button pads on the motherboard which is where the silicone pads touch them, I couldn’t actually get the button inputs for the OSD menu to work. However, thankfully most of the functionality can be adjusted by the touch sensors including brightness, color palettes, pixel grid, & a battery indicator; unfortunately as for the screen adjustment & custom color palette adjustments, that can only be configured by the OSD. Other than that, this OSD IPS LCD in a Game Boy Light is nice & it’s very similar to the FunnyPlaying IPS LCD made for the Game Boy Pocket & Light! 👍
I made this Game Boy Light with a spray painted gold shell look an official Japanese gold Game Boy Light, despite the LCD being replaced with an IPS LCD!
