GAMESPOT! We Need To Talk About Review Scores (and what YOU need to look out for!)
A discussion on including how Smash JT review scores are made, including the latest controversy of GameSpot reviewing Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze on the Nintendo Switch, giving it a 9, when they originally reviewed it on the Nintendo Wii U, giving it a 6.
During the rise of YouTube (and subsequent individual game reviewers), big business reviewers like Gamespot and IGN, were, at the end of the day, no different from a quality individual youtuber. These guys were scared when YouTube started growing, but felt relieved when they realized many people acted as sheep and flocked to popular areas to fit in, without wanting to waste their time sorting through individual reviewers to find out who was worth their time and who wasn't.
Questions have arisen as to how reviews are made and why they're important. Smash JT takes a look at the review process, what's wrong with it, and most importantly, how to fix it.
Clearing the air to give you guys an honest perspective on how I review games and why it's important to find a reviewer that fits your gameplay style.
