Gaming on a Radeon HD5450 in 2020
Taking another look at the cheap PC I picked up off ebay. This time we've upgraded to an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 running at 2.4ghz and adding a low profile ATI Radeon HD5450 512mb Graphics Card (GPU) running at 650mhz. I test the PC with various games including:
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2
Act Of War
Dirt Rally 3
Call Of Duty Mobile
Counter Strike: Global Operations
Minecraft (Windows 10 edition)
Planet Coaster
The cheap PC I have purchased will as you can see in the video struggle to achieve a high frame rate, with most games not being playable.
However, the Intel core 2 Quad Q6600 runs really well on the PC. I will be upgrading the ATI Radeon HD5450 with a much faster graphics card. Make sure you subscribe to thommo's tech to make sure you don't miss the next upgrade journey of the £30 PC I picked up off ebay.
Full specifications of the £30 PC I picked up off ebay:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 running at 2.4ghz per core.
ATI Radeon HD5450 with 512mb DDR2 and HDMI out
160gb Seagate blue hard drive
4gb DDR2
Let me know what you think in the comments below. Have I pushed the Radeon HD5450 too far, or should I test more games on the GPU?
Would you like me to test other games?
Should you just not bother with a gaming PC now, and just purchase a tablet for a casual gaming fix?
One thing that's for certain, the Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 is still exceptional value for money.
