Gaming with Netbooks: Unreal Tournament 2004
Looking at this video, one could assume that UT2004 is a great game to play on a modern netbook. Well...that's only partially true. See, performance on a Cedar Trail netbook is highly map-dependent. UT plays quite smoothly on the 1-on-1 Idoma or Serpentine maps, but load up a large Assault or Onslaught map and you'll have issues. Lowering graphical settings short of switching to software rendering (which is quite impressive in its own right) doesn't help matters. If you're a competitive online player, stick to UT99 or get a non-Cedar Trail netbook.
