Gary Suiter: The Goofiest NBA Player of All Time — Tales of Sports Foolishness (ep. 2)
Coffins. Hot dogs. Prostitutes. Murder. Let's relive the brief career of former Cleveland Cavaliers center Gary Suiter, who just might be the worst NBA player ever. Seriously.
It's Tales of Sports Foolishness!
Notes:
*Midwestern University later changed its name to "Midwestern State University." The school did not produce another NBA player for four decades, until finally, in 2012, MSU alum Eric Dawson appeared in four games for the San Antonio Spurs at the tail end of the season. Like Suiter, Dawson only appeared in one NBA season.
*When I said Suiter is/was obscure, a Google search returned just 356 hits for '"Gary Suiter" NBA' as of the posting of this video. A household name, he was not. (Which by the way, is why it was especially difficult to make this video about him.)
*The photos of Suiter surrounded by the blue background? I had to purchase the actual, physical copies of those photos on eBay and then scan them, because they simply weren't available in any other way on the internet at the time.
*The "Eastern League" later became the Continental Basketball Association, and the Buffalo Braves eventually became the Clippers.
*One odd Suiter tidbit that barely made it into the video for a split second: he apparently collected every edition of Mad Magazine.
*I made this video back when my username was not Velodus, hence the "video by" at the end being different. Carry on.

This is 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬: a series in which I, Velodus, dig deep on sports figures in history who were either obscure or whose stories were not getting nearly enough attention at the time these videos were made. If you're a huge fan of sports history, or if you're just a fan of well-researched, tightly-edited video essays, you'll probably dig these episodes.
