The Gouf Custom is an iconic suit that for years was and might still be considered one of the worst suit's at it's native cost though it is not without a number of traits that can be used to it's advantage, Both machine gun type weapons are fired from the shield side letting it counter peak from relative safety making it easier to apply pressure on low hp enemies, the 'Heat' Rod is a relatively to use heavy stagger that can lock down a support letting you combo them from 100 to 0% if no one helps them and you correctly space out your melee swings which is especially helpful against tank type suits as they can't take advantage of their quick recovery from knock down.
The Melee swings while powerful have somewhat awkward hit boxes, the neutral swing hits a shallow but wide area in front of you while the side swing often needs you to turn your suit slightly to reliably hit, the downswing has a narrow swing making it easy to aim around your allies.
Overall the lack of good stun options outside of the committal 'Heat' Rod does hurt the suit especially when paired with the meh at best ranged damage making it difficult to create an opening for itself.
in the context of the situation Battle the Custom fits in well, being the high damage foe the enemy needs to keep track of alongside having a nice juicy target for it in the form of the Guntank MP.
