Hopefully this quick guide will help some of you out with beating the master difficulty on the map the hive on escape mode in Gears 5. Escape mode is a challenge set for 3 players who can all use different abilities in which the infiltrate and destroy a swarm hive. Along the way the players are pitted against waves of swarm enemies and the hives usually throw a couple of bosses in the mix to make things more of a challenge. Along the way you usually find a safe room or 2 although this isn't always the case, when you reach the safe room your progression usually saves so that if all players end game you will load back in at the the last safe room you reached. In Master difficulty if all players end game you will be thrown back to the menu and have to restart the entire hive from scratch. In Escape mode you can choose from several different difficulties, each difficulty adds a different mutator into the mix and master difficulty has them all. The mutators that are used in The Hive on Master difficulty are as follows, More health (enemies have increased health), More Lethal (enemies do more damage to players), Regen Penalty (player health regenerates slower), Faster Venom (the venom travels twice as fast), Ammo Starvation (ammo pickups have 50% less in them), Regeneration (enemies regenerate their health over time), Ironman (no respawns allowed).
