Geoff Keighley, host and creator of Summer Game Fest, Gamescom Opening Night Live and The Game Awards, is someone I’ve seen a whole lot of over the last few years. His list of events keeps growing in number and in scale, and he’s gotten exclusive reveals for games like Saints Row, Star Wars Eclipse, Wonder Woman, Hallblade: Senua’s Saga and Elden Ring. Needless to say, his events are a big deal. But as much as I get excited for them and respect them and often enjoy them, I’ve had a few nagging problems with each one for a while now. I wanted to outline how I think these events could improve their structure, length and priorities in order to produce better overall shows in the future.
