DOOM Eternal, Batman Arkham, Spiderman PS4, Remnant From The Ashes. All good games, and all with a handful of great bosses. Unfortunately, they have their fair share of duds too, as do countless other games out there, and while there are plenty of different factors that dictate what makes a bad boss fight, I wanted to discuss one constant, annoying, grossly overused boss mechanic that ruins 99% of the encounters it's used in. It's a failsafe, and a bad one. Allow me to rant for 20 minutes about one of my biggest pet peeves in video games: Adds.
