Starting off we have the Tier 1 German cruiser, the Hermelin. Excited to pilot my first German ship in the game with two cannons and 4,500 health. Armed with only HE shells, I engage in long-range combat, immediately landing a shot thanks to the new aiming aid. As I encounter another Hermelin, I manage to land several hits but fail to secure a takedown. Despite being outnumbered and surrounded by enemy ships, I decide to engage rather than retreat, leveraging my fast-firing cannons. I successfully take down multiple ships.
Despite facing a numerical disadvantage, I manage to destroy eight enemy ships, some of my success is likely presence of AI-controlled opponents. This achievement earns me 2,000 experience points, allowing me to upgrade to the next ship in the line, the Dresden, a Tier 2 cruiser.
I then take the helm of the Dresden a German Tier 2 Cruiser for the first time. My goal is to explore its capabilities and potential for damage especially given its arsenal of 10 cannons split evenly across both sides, and the AP rounds it's equipped with. The Dresden feels a bit slower than what I'm accustomed to.. The match gets off to a rocky start I attempt to take down a destroyer that poses a threat with its torpedoes, managing to dodge them and land some hits.
As the battle intensifies, I take on various enemies, trying to make the most of my AP rounds. I face challenges with these rounds bouncing off the armor of tougher ships. After some trial and error, I switch to HE rounds to deal more consistent damage, even to heavily armored foes. I conclude this battle with significant achievements: 76,000 tokens, 40,000 damage, three ships destroyed, and a total of 304 target hits.
Next we're piloting the Kolberg a German Tier 3 Cruiser fully upgraded for maximum firepower. With 12 cannons ready, my strategy is simple: bombard the enemy to chip away at their health across the battlefield. The session kicks off with high energy as we encounter enemy destroyers launching torpedoes. Thanks to precise aiming and effective broadsides we quickly dispatch one marking our first victory. As the battle heats up, I switch between AP rounds for armor penetration and HE rounds for consistent damage, adapting to the threats as they come.
Despite a moment of lag I manage to take down enemies one by one. My approach is to harass and wear down the opposition, aiming for citadel hits for maximum damage. We end up engaging in direct confrontations with enemy ships despite facing overwhelming odds and sustaining heavy damage, I continue to press the attack.
In the last match I pilot the Nassau a Tier 3 German Battleship. This is the base model but I'm hopeful to upgrade it in today's session. German ships have their unique charm and with four side cannons allowing for six total engagements, I'm eager to test its capabilities. The match starts with high intensity as torpedoes are launched at our destroyer nearly crippling it. Engaging an enemy at 5 kilometers I manage to land some solid hits with the Nassau's cannons. Despite the ship's slow reload time its firepower is undeniable. One enemy manages to launch torpedoes before being taken down but I quickly repair the damage.
Throughout the battle I face challenges with the Nassau's slow speed and long cooldowns making it difficult to land long-distance shots. Close engagements prove the ship's worth as I hammer away at enemies, setting them on fire and securing take-downs with both HE and AP rounds. Despite docking myself accidentally I continue to support my team, defending our area successfully.
