Today I am taking a trip down memory lane to talk about my old Steam game Stick Adventures: Wizard Madness, released back in January 2018. It's still available on Steam and it's been quite a journey since then but that's not all as I've also released a new game called Sneaky Snacks: Hidden Object Game where you dive into medieval inspired levels to find hidden food items.
Back in May 2015 I was playing Clicker Heroes and its spin-offs daily which inspired me to create a game focused on object destruction through clicking. Hence Stick Adventures: Wizard Madness was crafted in Game Maker Studio 2 with every asset drawn in Paint. Despite its simplicity the game holds a special place in my heart due to including self made soundtracks in FL Studio. The game although amateurish represents a significant milestone in my journey selling about 190 copies since its launch.
Fast forward to 2024 and my latest project Sneaky Snacks showcases the progress I've made in both art and coding. This game leverages AI generated art modified and enhanced in Photoshop to create stunning visuals far surpassing those of my earlier work. With Sneaky Snacks I aimed to refine every aspect of game development I've learned over the years including implementing a campaign, bonus modes and Steam achievements.
