Whilst Remembrance Sunday was being marked across the forces world, in Germany soldiers from 21st Panzer Division of the Bundeswehr were also marking their national day of remembrance.

The servicemen and women paid their respects on Volkstrauertag, which translates as people's day of sadness.

For 21st Panzer Division the ceremony was all the more poignant as they lost one of their own, Alexij Kobelew, in June this year.

He was the first soldier that they have lost in combat since their formation.
