They added bestiary in terraria 1.4 journey's end update, and... it's good. yes, It's good. They gives you information about mob, item drop rate, and even funny jokes.... until you realize you have to defeat 50 mobs to get full information... even the rare one... like tim and nymphs... AUGHHHH!

Yes, I really defeated a lot of mobs. I defeated 10000 zombies. no joke, to fill 3 rare zombie (the bride, doctor bones, and i forgot). and guess what? There's even more. THAT'S RIGHT, EVEN MORE!

I really wasted about 8 hours to fill everything on pre-hardmode bestiary... this is really... fun..(extreme sarcasm included)...

dropping requirement for full information doesn't help either: YOU HAVE TO DO THAT FOR THEIR BANNERS. well, at least it's same, 50.... that doesn't change the fact.
