This is it, folks! The last chapter of Ghost Toasters: Chapter 5! The game definitely closes on a strong note with its level design. This time, it goes all out… into space! With a black hole (which doesn’t actually do anything, but it still looks cool) at the center of all the action! And with Jebediah Townhouse’s giant head protruding from it, his eyes eerily following your every move as you continue to fight against ghosts.

Unlike the black hole itself, Jebediah Townhouse actually does something to interact with the player. As you can see, the map consists of several platforms, and the player will need to continuously jump between them, before the ghosts get a chance to attack.

However, one must keep an eye out for a mysterious face which will at times appear in a random platform, as this means the platform is about to be molded by Jebediah Townhouse. Those who know him are aware that this is actually an ability he had in the show, too; once Jebediah Townhouse becomes a ghost, he’s able to hide in inanimate objects, which is what the platforms of these stages are. Jebediah Townhouse will, after a few seconds, raise the middle of the platform to stop the player from crossing to the other end, if the player is currently in said platform. This not only limits the player’s choices, but it also gives the ghosts a chance to close in on the player, if not swarm the player outright. In addition to this, being at the center of the platform when this occurs will result in death or damage, depending on the character.

What’s more, Jebediah Townhouse eventually confronts you directly as you progress through Chapter 5’s stages, and this is in addition to his ability to mold platforms at will. He serves as a sort of final boss to the game, and the player can even earn an achievement by “toasting” him, as in throwing semi-explosive toast at him until he’s weak enough that he needs to go back to the black hole he came from… wow, that came out wrong. I’m talking about the one at the center of the stage, alright? Get your minds out of the gutter, folks.

Keep in mind, however, that Townhouse is able to take quite a lot of punishment, and he’s also able to give a lot of punishment right back at the player. Nevertheless, a critical hit from Margaret’s rocket is still capable to put him down; at least once she’s upgraded to level 5.

The thing that makes Townhouse stand out as the final boss, however, is his special attack. If he gets close enough to you, he’ll start spinning in your direction, prompting you to escape as soon as possible. However, he has an ace under his sleeve: after a few seconds, he’ll release massive beams of energy top, down, left and right of his position; if any of the player’s characters are caught in the beams, they will die instantly. Cool!
