It is about 3.45am on Aug 4th 2011, I received an updated instruction for my T-Mobile G2. I start the process, which takes about 10min-15mins and viola my G2 has been updated to Gingerbread (Android 2.3.4). So what's new and why the excitement. First off it seems to have fixed my useless issue of my phone being stuck perpetually on landscape mode. It should bring some battery improvements, Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dock settings and Tell HTC feature. That allows you to report errors to HTC straight from your device. I am glad this is rolling out to G2 customers, it seemed T-Mobile had forgotten about the device and moved on to green pastures. No Idea when this will be hitting everyone but I suspect It should be making the rounds soon.
