The Motorola Photon 4G is what I call Motorola's Tour de France, a design master piece that shows no hindrances. The Motorola Photon 4G is powered by a 1Ghz dual-core tegra 2 processor, with a lovely 4.3"qHD screen. Which displays superbly in sunlight, an 8MP rear camera with dual LED flash, front facing VGA camera. 16GB of internal storage, mini HDMI-put and a kickstand which sprint made famous with the EVO line of smartphones. The Photon 4G also runs the latest version of blur overlay on Android 2.3.4 and also comes packed with Sprints ID pack software suite.
So what makes this device different from the rest? Starting with the design, though similar to the Atrix 4G which was release by Motorola earlier this year. The Photon captures its only unique look with more distinctive edges, a lighter feel from its Atrix 4G counterpart and the soft plastic back allows for easier gripping of the device in hands. You will not that the physical button on the device such as the Vol toggle and camera buttons are ridged to allow an easier finger recognition to the button when in use. Ok enough of the hardware pleasantries, how well does the Photon 4G fair in this review?
Conclusion
The Motorola Photon 4G is the idea phone for the Sprint user, packed with a plethora of features. The Photon 4G delivers a stable Android user experience and yes that kickstand that Sprint user love so much is here too. Yes there are some set backs to the device. For me it pretty much less on the camera. Granted it works well in recording video at 7720p, Motorola still has failed to hit the mark on taking quality still with a camera @ 8MP.
Thought that doesn't take away much from a device that is a world phone and allows you to take you Photon 4G experience every with you around the Global. A solid phone and a great addition to Sprint catalog of Android devices. Though this one rest at the top.
