God Hand (HARD MODE) Crowd Control Showcase Without Using Up Dodging , Pyramid Room Stage 7 (PS2)
Decided to post this failed attempt to show my current crowd control techniques. I am by no means a master of this game, this is just how Ive been playing to get through this mode. Which is my only goal with this playthrough, by any legit means. I think this fight shows my crowd control skills at thier current best and also shows a different play style, since most players on Hard mode I see using HEAVY up dodging. You will see here I dont use it at all. I rarely ever use the Up dodge (Up on right analog stick). Instead I use an evasive aggressive play style where I roll back then come back in with running jump kicks or use the drunken fall to launch rushing enemies.
Also the falling backwards move is used to create breathing room and launch smaller guys into larger guys with the jump spinning kick. This is done by launching an enemy and then forward and triangle on the left analog stick.
Using all items to throw as well. I had better attempts. One where I got to the boss of this fight, but that was because I had much better item drops, including two shaolin fists which kill everything in thier path. Here I had much less to work with. The final run will probably look similiar but with much better item drops hopefully.
I should implement Up dodging more as it can help with getting cornered, which often means instant death on this mode. Thats one thing I really have to avoid. Side stepping can help but its not always enough.
Step back kick works great with my style too, since it steps back to dodge then comes in with a launching kick. It fits my style of rolling back and coming back in immediately with strikes. The game has a shitload of moves which really fits any playstyle.
Its a mix of stubborness and my play style for why I never practiced or used up dodging much. I was making quick progress without it and prefferred the mobility of moving quickly aroud the arena, getting hits in and getting the fuck out when needed, to re position everyone. Even using roulette slow motion to position enemies. This felt more natural for me. Id really have to practice the up dodge to become proficient with it and incorporate it heavily. But then my playstyle wouldnt be the same. I use it occasionally but should probably utilise it more. Regardless the game will go down soon. The final form of the last boss I use it alot. Check out my video of that fight on normal, in my boss domination series playlist, where I barely took damage.
Stay tuned !!
