Alright, back to our daily scheduled programming of God of War: Ascension skips. You can, in fact, skip all the waterwheel events when coming through the area for the first time in Chapter 5. A customized high jump is needed - first get some extra height with Broken Destiny jump, then toss Sling to reset air momentum, then instantly follow up with Bravery of Hercules to get some extra height and then a high jump finisher. It's a pretty annoying to pull this off, though, since with your air momentum reset, Kratos doesn't always inch forward enough to land on the waterwheel platform.

This skips the trivial fight against the Satyrs, the cutscene that follows, and ever having to operate the Waterwheel.

EDIT: it's in many ways simpler to do this trick without tossing the Sling after all.
