If a speedrunner ever upgrades MG to Lvl. 2, they get to use this jump variation. In comparison to the normal version, this gets you up a lot faster, and it is also not dependant on PR (although PR can be used to reset falling momentum every once in a while).

You can start doing this from a normal jump or an ascension. The advantage of a normal jump is better upwards and forwards momentum for your air attacks... not to mention you can also do the "lenient air momentum" glitch when starting from a normal jump, making your air attacks very lofty indeed.

(credits go to GMG for the fuse glitch, which turned out to have these nice high/long jumping applications.)

This and the Falling Helios jumps with Blades allow you to do equivalents to normal high jumps without the use of PR. So, basically, if you could conjure 10000 extra orbs from somewhere easily to upgrade Blades to Lvl. 4 and/or (eventually) Gaze to Lvl. 2, you could probably play the game through skipping PR and win time.
