I don't think these glitches were covered on video very well before, so here's the gist of it.

Basically, if you upgrade a magic while you're using it, you get some glitchy effects. Most often the magic cuts short or (as is the case with the two stance magics) their effects disappear. Pretty simple stuff.

If you retry from last checkpoint now, the magic you upgraded remains glitched for a short moment after gameplay resumes. Maybe the game has to load the data for it all over again. It's a pity none of these glitch effects are particularly useful... for example, imagine if a glitched air version of a magic allowed some new high jump. And you could utilize at wherever there are checkpoints! But alas...

List of the effects:

Poseidon's Rage = magic ends instantly, both ground and air.

Medusa's Gaze = the head disappears from Kratos' hands and he can't do other attacks than Gorgon Rage any longer. In air Kratos just does an invisible Gorgon Flash.

Zeus' Fury = effects disappear, and Kratos may shoot one invisible bolt before things go back to normal. Charged version is more interesting in that Kratos becomes stuck in the stance even if you let go of L2. In air Kratos just shoots an invisible bolt.

Army of Hades = magic ends instantly. Also, if you upgrade Blades and AoH at the same time, then retry and cast AoH as soon as possible, the game always crashes.
