Godzilla minus one was the best movie of 2023, to be fair it didn’t have much competition this year. Whats noticeable about Godzilla Minus one is that this is probably the first time a non western country has created a blockbuster spectacle movie with the special effects to back it up. If you ever wanted to see a larger than life action movie or a period piece your options were limited to Hollywood and Hollywood alone. That time is coming to an end. Visual effects are now getting streamlined to the point that Hollywood no longer has a monopoly over larger than live movies. Now they have to compete with foreign country's and soon hopefully indies.
