47Most of the rooms Green Brinstar in the original Super Metroid have very simple, repetitive backgrounds. While this makes it easier to give rooms passable backgrounds, they are not very visually interesting. I managed to find some extra palette and tile space in the tile set to add a new set of background tiles which I use to create much more interesting designs. Combine that with parallax scrolling and you've got yourself some real feelings of depth.
