Super Metroid Custom Miniboss Fifth Iteration
18The fifth iteration of a custom miniboss I have been developing. This version increases the complexity of the fight and adds cosmetic changes.
After the boss reaches half health, not only will he pull out a second set of swords, but he will also throw a second shuriken at you as you fight. The ricochet pattern of the new shuriken combined with the first makes movement in the fight much tighter and more challenging, especially with how wide the boss' main attack is.
The boss' shield is now animated. Gone are my old placeholder block graphics. While the graphics still need some work, every part of the boss now has some kind of custom graphic associated with it. Hopefully, the animation of the shield will give an ethereal feel to the situation.
Finally, the boss' shurikens now properly die when the main boss is killed.
