I used to play the original Golden Axe arcade machine when I was a kid. I didn't own a Sega Genesis, but this is a very good port. A fantasy-style beat 'em up with magic spells, and creatures to ride as weapons. Golden Axe combat isn't as complex as Double Dragon, but it's still pretty tough if you don't know when to save your magic or use the environment to kick difficult enemies off a ledge. There's multiple characters to choose from with different attacks. The artwork is awesome and the music is memorable. I also like how the console port added an additional stage at the end with an even harder boss.
