45When you're going through a catalog of almost thirteen hundred titles, there's going to be a lot of names that are either incredibly obscure, or they're random sports games that most people don't really care about. But then there's some that are huge names, that have a reputation that have stood the test of time, and any time I get to review one of those "Big" names, it's pretty exciting.
If you're a Sega fan, Golden Axe is one of those "big" names, being an arcade hit that spawned an entire series, but then also being one of the early Genesis titles that really put the console on the map, and was emblematic of the "Sega does what Nintendon't" advertising campaign, with 16 bit arcade ports that were far beyond anything that could be done on an 8 bit console. But just how good is Golden Axe? Did it suffer from being such an early release? Or did Sega R&D 2 knock this one out of the park? Take a look!
