This is a partly tool-assisted run in which I defeat all the bosses in Golden Sun with Mia only. See the restrictions, stats, and my thoughts about the fight below.

--- Rules and restrictions ---

- Only Mia can be alive at any given time
- No Djinn can be on standby before the battle to prevent turn 1 summons
- No items may be used, including in-battle uses of equipment like rings

--- Tool-assistance ---

This run makes use of something I've decided to call "RNG routing." Battles in Golden Sun can be very predictable with the use of savestates since only certain actions advance the RNG before you commit to an action. Thanks to this, it's possible to go through the fight and methodically write a turn by turn action list that will theoretically give you the same result every time you enter the battle on the same RNG seed (like when you load a savestate right before it.) This is a consequence of retrying fights quickly on emulator and rather than have it be a side effect I'd try to ignore I decided to embrace it as a tool I could use to make entertaining videos. If you're put off by this and would rather see a run that is played normally, I recommend looking up my Isaac solo.
It's also worth pointing out that even though I say the run is tool-assisted in some way, I'm still the one performing all the inputs in real time.

--- About the fight ---

A fun little gamer fact is that this boss is technically optional. While other bosses can be made optional by skipping them using glitches (Retreat glitch to walk out-of-bounds and grab the Lift Gem behind Hydros Statue, clipping into movable pillars in Gondowan Cave to skip the Tolbi boat section and Kraken) this guy can be skipped by just... not getting caught in the tornado lol

Most people will probably end up fighting this boss and the recolored version you find in the Crossbone Isle tornado but I'm skipping the recolor because it's literally the same boss aside from slightly higher stats, and I do mean slightly. It has 100 more health, 3 more PP, 4 more attack, 8 more defense, and 2 more agility. Sounds like a very worthwhile addition to a run if you ask me /s

But let's ignore the guy I'm not fighting and focus on this lad for a sec, yeah?
Wing Stroke is very strong, and since the boss acts twice per turn it's entirely possible it'll use it twice in a row and completely shred your HP. It's very weak to Venus, hence the full Venus setup here. It's also actually possible to OHKO this boss with the Assassin Blade unleash and the boss is weak to deadly poison, meaning it's pretty easy to proc with Bane (a Djinn you can freely grab before fighting this boss since, again, it's technically optional.) I did exactly that in a previous take but uh, it made the fight an absolute joke as deadly poison deals so much damage every turn thanks to the boss acting twice.
