Golem in 48 seconds - MasoDeath (Calamity + Fargo's Souls DLC) Master | Terraria Mods
9Lmfao I found this piranha gun snapshotting exploit today and wanted to see how quickly I could kill Golem on-tier with it. This was a fun project :) It can definitely be done faster but it's hard to debuff install and re-attach the fish without dying, with such a squishy build.
Buffs snapshot when I spawn the fish:
- Shroomite stealth (60% inc dmg, 10% crit), only used at start of fight
- Wretched Pouch debuff install (120% inc dmg), part of Bionomic Cluster
- Tribal Charm's single click buff (30% inc dmg), part of Bionomic Cluster
- Amalgamated Brain (crit), only after a dodge proc
Things that the fish ticks update for:
- Forbidden ench (+60% MORE dmg, for a few sec after I put a twister on my attached fish)
- Lump of Flesh's gaze (gradually up to +15% MORE dmg on enemy based on how long my cursor is continuously on them)
Other noteworthy stats:
- Drinks are tequila and screwdriver.
- Ada ench is a nice DPS boost (~20% more)
- Lucky reforges everywhere get me to 100% crit chance while stealthed, or 90% white not.
- Shroomite helmet BiS for on-tier. Specialist one. This gun doesn't get any dmg from ammo so the fact that type-based multiplier doesn't affect the ammo doesn't matter.
- Hoverboard gets a 5% type-based multiplier as well thanks to calamity's wing tweaks. Additive with the 15% from helmet, so a 20% multiplier together.
One difficult thing about this strat is that you must only attach fish to the head since his fists delete projectiles they touch. Thus, if he ever punches through his head he will clean himself of your fish. This is part of the reason why the DPS drops off so much once the fight gets hectic. In a vacuum the fish can stay attached for one minute before naturally despawning.

Fargo's Souls DLC allows compatibility and balance between Calamity and Fargo's Souls Mod, which are two giant content mods. It incorporates cal boss AI for vanilla bosses into the souls AI. For cal bosses, DLC currently reworks bosses up to Brimstone Elemental.
Souls is a great mod that stands up well on its own, and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys Calamity. In my opinion the overall fight design is better than in Calamity. It has less item bloat, focusing more on cool item interactions and making your own builds. The enchantment system is awesome. Souls-exclusive bosses are some of my favourites in modded Terraria with the exception of the "Champions" (which are slated to be reworked eventually as they're not up to snuff).
In the same way Calamity has two custom difficulties in Revengeance and Death, Souls has two custom difficulties in Eternity and Masochist. Masochist is what I like to play. It can only be played on Master difficulty and buffs stats and all the AIs. There's a global +10% DR modifier on maso as well as other changes. Most of the trolly ridiculous changes for which maso was infamous are perishing, with the devs (particularly Javyz) making an effort to turn maso into an Actually Good difficulty.
In DLC when combining Calamity and Souls, people refer to the difficulty combinations as follows:
- e-rev = Eternity + Revengeance
- edeath = Eternity + Death
- masodeath = Masochist + Death
