A beginning to end playthrough of DreamWorks Interactive's 1997 Windows 95 game, R. L. Stine Goosebumps: Attack of the Mutant.

I made to sure to get EVERYTHING possible, so this video shows all of the hidden costume pieces being collected, as well as the special ending that you get for collecting them all.

Many of your guys requested that I play through this after I did Goosebumps: Escape from Horrorland (you can check out that playthrough here: http://youtu.be/7vQ0qBVhjME). Sorry that it took so long for me to get around to doing this video - but here it is at last! I hope it was worth the wait. The video was recorded directly from Windows 8.1 from a disc image I made off of my original CD (mainly to avoid the load times incurred when reading directly from the game disc). It plays just fine with no tweaks despite being 19 years old this year!

Unlike Escape from Horrorland, this is not an FMV adventure game. Rather, it is a first-person shooter with hilariously tacky cel-shaded cartoon characters. Still, for as much as this game has aged, it still looks good - anyone that remembers playing this when it was new can attest to what an amazing looking game it was back in 1997. Seriously, it ran smoothly on my Pentium 133mhz with 32 megs of RAM using a 2D-only PCI video accelerator card! That was quite the feat, even if it was running at the now-considered paltry resolution of 640x480 in 8-bit color mode (256 colors on-screen at once).

The videos interspersed throughout are pretty hilarious - torso's wiggle about independent of their lower halves, everyone gesticulates wildly like they're trying to put out a fire, and there are some genuinely hilarious moments through them - my favorite has to be when the Galloping Gazelle (a guy who's superpower seems to be having gazelle legs and ears - he action-movie kicks pretty epicly with his bizarrely misshapen limbs) has one of his legs "erased". and you have to help him out by tossing a random golden woman's leg at him that you found hanging out on a floating bit of ice. Seriously - he puts on a female's detached golden leg, and proceeds to kick the bejeezus out of this enemy. And the best part - Gazelle is played by Adam West! You can't make this stuff up!

I loved the books as a kid, and the game was a pretty entertaining, pleasantly high budget affair Hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed reliving the memories of it :)

And finally, the voice cast is pretty heavy hitting for a game this old! Here are the actors, I'm sure you'll recognize at least a few of them:

Jim Belushi - Masked Mutant
Mary Kay Bergman - Flo
Kimberly Brooks - Dinah Mite
Jodi Carlisle - Chin Chilla
Michael Donovan - Captain Bob, Penguin, Magnificent Molecule Man
Keri Tombazini - Babblin Brooke
Adam West - Galloping Gazelle
John Garry - Wartlock
Scott LaRosa - Feedback
Matt Levin - Root Rot
Roger Rose - Pinky Flamingo
Steve Schatzberg - Toadie Tim, Tina, Tod
