Gorgeous glow/bloom effect the easy way [GameMaker Studio 2 | Vfx]
This visual/vfx tutorial shows you how to improve your video game graphics with the bloom/glow effect the easy way.
First of all, the bloom/glow effect is quite easy to understand once you see it. You basically copy an image, blurr it and then overlay it with reduced opacity over the original image . The result is a smooth and silky glow effect which you see in lot of modern video games like clash of clans.
Normally you would do this bloom effect with a shader. Alternatively this bloom/glow effect can be achieved by simply using an image editing programm or if you own Gamemaker Studio in its image editor.
