This song has a bit of a story to it. One of the very first songs I heard and wanted to learn on guitar when I was picking it up around 2014 was Gourmet Race from Kirby. I'd heard it before many times. I was bingeing on TheRunawayGuys and PressL2P at the time, and a remix of this song with Kirby singing over it was used at the end to show comments from past videos. I didn't know what song it was, but found out through Super Smash Brothers, which had a remixed version of Gourmet Race in it.
When I found out what the song was called, I took to YouTube to find the extended upload. But, in my searches, I eventually found a video called "Kirby Guitar Medley" by FamilyJules7x, as he was known as at the time. I was impressed because at the time, I assumed that it was impossible to play video game music on guitar, but there was Jules, playing it. And so I wanted to learn it. For years I practiced it, hoping to record my own version, and it all stemmed from my accidental discovery of Jules' Kirby Guitar Medley.
I owe the fact that this got made to Jules. He was in fact the reason I picked up writing and pursuing music as my passion and hopefully, eventual career path. He was also part of the reason I picked up what was my first electric guitar, the Schecter C-6 Deluxe. He has always been my greatest inspiration, and I hereby dedicate this cover to him. Jules, if you see this, and I'm sure you won't, I hope you understand what you instilled in me, and can recognize how much your talents have affected not just me but thousands of others. So, thank you Jules! And I hope you enjoy! :)
