A pretty annoying boss given how early in the run it shows up.
Mercurius absolutely loves breaking combos and its wonky hurtbox really doesn't help things either, but it's far from impossible once you figure things out and bully the boss relentlessly. I found that artes with good hitstun and launching properties are pretty good against this boss, and Ruinous Bloom fits the bill perfectly. It's an arte I've been underestimating over the years so you can most likely expect to see it pop up again here and there. The fact that it chains into Gale Maw as an altered arte is a very juicy and succulent cherry on top.
The Demon Fang at the start doesn't combo but, at least from what I remember when this was recorded (which was a good hecking while ago,) it made the opener a lot more consistent, whether that's because Mercurius' attacks aren't fast enough to interrupt Gale Maw or not is something I'll leave up to the more studious viewers.
As I mentioned in my community post I think I'm gonna rework my Malik take because the current one is kinda bad once the goons are dealt with, so idk when that video will go up.
