Graham Norton asks George Takei about William Shatner
Star Trek actor George Takei has referred to his former co-star William Shatner as a "cantankerous old man" and stated that this is the last time he will speak about him.
The 85-year-old actor, who co-starred in the famous sci-fi series as Lieutenant Hikaru Sulu opposite Shatner's Captain James T Kirk, has been embroiled in a nasty spat with his ex-colleague for more than 50 years.
It seems Takei intended to finally put their long-running animosity to rest when he came on The Graham Norton Show to present his musical Allegiance, which is based on his boyhood experience of internment during WWII.
When asked if he and Shatner got along, Takei replied “You are the last chat show host to be allowed to ask that question as it has become so tiresome to talk about.
“When Bill has a book to sell he needs publicity and accuses us of using him. My subject is more substantial and important."
George Takei he added: “He is a cantankerous old man and I will not talk about him anymore.
